The Warden of St Paul’s is delighted to announce the appointment of Casey White as St Paul’s College’s first full-time Dean of Undergraduates.

Casey is an award-winning education leader with extensive experience in collegiate communities and strategically implementing improvements for student experience. His passion for the development of young adults in university colleges arose from his own formative experience in college as an undergraduate.

Since then he has served in many collegiate roles including Sub-Dean, Dean of Residents and Dean of Students at colleges in both Canberra and Sydney. He has also taken leadership roles in college advancement with great success in building philanthropic activity and enhancing alumni relations.

In recent years he has been developing strategic and innovative programs to improve residential life for university accommodation services, including at Sydney University. His belief in the benefits of a distinctly collegiate education, however, attracted him away from his current role at UniLodge as General Manager (Residential Life) for Australia and New Zealand to this exciting new position at St Paul’s.

The new Dean will lead the undergraduate community at St Paul’s as it continues to implement its commitment to cultural renewal. He will work closely with student leaders and the entire undergraduate student body to ensure the college is a safe, respectful and fun place in which to receive a holistic and enriching education. His personal commitment to the College’s values will enable him to lead by example as he motivates and equips St Paul’s men to be virtuous leaders themselves.

Casey was raised in Burnie, on the North-West Coast of Tasmania and studied Music at ANU. He has also done study in finance, accounting and event management and he is currently studying a Master of Leadership in Service Innovation at the University of Queensland. He also has an extensive CV as a conductor of choirs, orchestras and theatre. His ensembles have won international awards and have toured South Africa and the United States.

Casey is a passionate supporter of, he hopes, the one day to be successful Gold Coast Suns in the AFL, the Brumbies in the Super Rugby, the Canberra Cavalry in the Baseball and the Canberra Brave in the Ice Hockey. He is looking forward to donning a St Paul’s Jersey and cheering loudly for the College at upcoming Palladian and Rawson events. Casey said “I consider it a great privilege to be appointed as the inaugural Dean of Undergraduates at St Paul’s in an incredibly important time in the College’s history. I am eager to work closely with the Warden, our Student Leaders, the College Council and our Alumni on enhancing a distinctly St Paul’s experience that will lead us into the next phase of College life.”

The Warden is excited that Casey will be joining the team at St Paul’s. He will move into College and begin as Dean of Undergraduates in the second week of March 2020.
