Lloyd Waddy Dinner

College community thanks Lloyd Waddy for eminent service to St Paul’s

On 30 May 2019, the College community came together to celebrate the eminent contribution of the Hon Lloyd Waddy AM RFD QC to St Paul’s as a Fellow of the College for nearly half a century. In a speech of welcome, the Warden, Dr Don Markwell, expressed the College’s profound gratitude to Lloyd for his exceptional service on the College Council since 1971. He noted that Mr Waddy had contributed so immensely to College life since his time as a student. “Lloyd had been a resident student in the College from 1958 to 1961, and was very active in College affairs – for example, as Secretary of the Union Committee in the 1960s – before coming onto Council in 1971. I know and am very grateful that he continues as an active supporter of the College in his retirement from the Council,” said Dr Markwell. Former Sub-Warden of the College,

St Paul’s College Union invites members and friends to enjoy the final games of the Intercol Rugby being held at University No. 2 Oval on the evening of Wednesday 22 May. As usual light food and drinks will be provided from 6.30 pm in a section of the TAG Family Foundation Grandstand. There are three evening games including the Rosebowl Rugby. Alistair Kitchen announced as Schwarzman Scholar for 2018

Congratulations to Pauline Alistair Kitchen (2011-14), on being awarded a fully funded scholarship to study at the new Schwarzman College at the Tsinghua University in Beijing for 2018. Schwarzman Scholars are prepared to build stronger relationships between China and a rapidly changing world and to address the most pressing challenges of the 21st Century. The list of Scholars for 2018 includes 129 young people from 30 countries & 75 universities around the world.   Bio: Alistair graduated from the University of Sydney with a Master of Arts in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in English Literature. He helped author Out On the Fields, a ground-breaking report into homophobia in the sporting environment, and launched the Good Lad Initiative – a program that delivers workshops on masculinity and consent – in Australia. Before that, he led initiatives that increased access to university to students from underrepresented backgrounds. He
