“The idea for this scholarship began when friends and I were reflecting on our time at St Paul’s, after graduating from medicine in 2007. We wanted to make a contribution so that others could enjoy the many opportunities and experiences we had during our time there.” –Dr Rob Massera (2007), Chair SPCMAS.

St Paul’s College invites our Medical Alumni to shape a new generation of medical influencers, poised to change the face of healthcare by supporting the MEDICAL ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP. The scholarship was established by young medical alumni in 2010, who were then only interns themselves, and has since funded 5 medical students with the help of Paulines. When you invest in medical students living in St Paul’s College you invest in the community, the city of Sydney, and beyond.
As one of the Asia Pacific region’s most highly rated education and research institutions, Sydney Medical School Graduates play leading roles in health fields around the world and their research investigates diseases which affect millions of lives, including cancer, obesity, chronic disease and ageing, neurosciences and mental health, infectious diseases, and reproductive, maternal and child health.

Private giving to fund the MEDICAL ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP is urgently needed to assure that St Paul’s College will continue to contribute highly-trained graduates and innovative ideas to our changing world.

Endowment gifts – especially scholarships – are imperative for attracting and supporting world-class students. The MEDICAL ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP will help to close the endowment gap between need and opportunity. Together we can shape tomorrow.
Whether you can give $120 or $1 million, we ask you to partner with us to be part of something bigger.

Medical students of the University of Sydney will be eligible to apply for the MEDICAL ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP and it will be awarded by the Scholarship Committee of St Paul’s College with regard to individual merit, financial need and potential contribution to the College. The scholarship fully funds residential fees for each term, valued at $12,825 per semester or $25,650 per annum.

Patrick Cook“It is hard to overstate the difference the Medical Alumni scholarship has made to me and my future. Without the generous support of you, the donors, none of this would’ve been possible and for that I thank you.” -2015 & 2016 SPCMAS recipient, Mr Patrick Cook
