Mr Edward Palmisano, in College 1991-94, was appointed Chief Operating Officer at United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney in July.
The College is delighted to have another Pauline in university staff ranks. Edward said: ”I’m excited to start as Chief Operating Officer at the United States Studies Centre. The Centre is an independent foreign policy think tank dedicated to strengthening Australia’s relationship with the United States. It’s such a relevant time to be working on the bilateral relationship. Through rigorous analysis of American politics, foreign policy, defence and economics, the Centre has become a national resource, building Australia’s awareness of the dynamics shaping American society and their implications for Australia. Thank you to the many people who have provided support and advice on this step in my career.”
Edward’s career has included appointments in the NSW Department of Planning and Environment and for four years he was Head of International at the Australian Institute of Company Directors in Sydney. He is also a board member of the Art Gallery Society of NSW. He graduated LLB in 1997 and MA(International Relations) at Cambridge in 1988. He is a rower and was captain of Paul’s and Sydney Uni boat clubs and was President of Mummers.
